The UK is set to receive two cargoes of liquefied natural gas from Royal Dutch Shell and Qatar Petroleum-owned plants in the last week of the month, Kallanish Energy reports.
According to Milford Haven Port Authority data, the first cargo from Bonny Island, Nigeria, arrived at the Dragon LNG terminal on March 24. The cargo was shipped on the GasLog Seattle LNG tanker, which has capacity to carry 155,000 cubic meter of LNG.
The second cargo left Ras Laffan in Qatar on-board of the Al Samriya tanker and is estimated to arrive at the South Hook LNG terminal on March 31. The vessel has capacity to carry 263,000 cubic meters of LNG.
The Dragon LNG terminal in Milford Haven is owned by Shell and Ancala LNG. The facility can supply up to 10% of the UK’s energy needs.
The South Hook LNG terminal is owned by Qatar Petroleum (67.5%), ExxonMobil (24.15%) and Total (8.35%). It can process 15.6 million tonnes per annum of Qatari-like lean quality LNG, delivering roughly 21 billion cubic meters per year of gas into the UK national grid.
