China to launch country’s largest LNG terminal in 2022.

China is set to build its largest import liquefied natural gas terminal with operations slated to start in 2022, state media CCTV reported on Saturday.

According to the broadcaster, the LNG “reserve base” will be located in the Jiangsu province, eventually featuring 20 million tonnes per annum importing capacity.

During an initial phase, the facility will have four storage tanks with capacity of 220,000 cubic meters each. The start up receiving capacity is planned at 3 Mtpa, Kallanish Energy understands.

At Phase 2, six tanks will be built with an individual storage capacity of 270,000 cubic meters, the broadcaster said. (September 29, 2020)
