The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is finished by 99% as TASS reported citing Nord Stream 2 AG.
Akademik Cherskiy vessel has completely finished the planned works.
“The pipe-layer vessel Akademik Cherskiy has completely fulfilled the initially planned volume of works for Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Thus, the pipeline is finished by 99%,” the message says.
Besides, the pipe-layer Fortuna barge continues work at the final area of the project.
On July 21, the U.S. and Germany made a joint statement in support of Ukraine, European energy security, and climate goals on the results of the talks on prospects of the launch of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
The same day, Ukraine initiated consultations with the European Commission and Germany regarding the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which threatens the security of Ukraine and violates the principles of diversification of the EU Energy Union. (July 29, 2021)
