Brazil’s Development Bank has approved and granted BRL 148.5 million (USD 28.6m/EUR 24m) in financing to biogas and biomethane production company Bioo Parana Holding SA.
The bank announced the approval of the credit line on Monday. Specifically, BRL 101.5 million was approved under BNDES’ Climate Fund and BRL 47.1 million is being disbursed under the Finem programme.
Bioo will use the funds to construct a new biomethane plant in the state of Parana at a total cost of BRL 196 million. The facility will use organic waste from agribusiness to produce 11 million cubic metres of renewable natural gas a year.
In addition to biomethane, the company will produce organic fertiliser, widely used in regional agriculture, BNDES noted. (February 11, 2026, Source: https://renewablesnow.com/news/bndes-okays-usd-29m-investment-in-biomethane-plant-in-brazil-1289525/)
