Worley gets FEED, EPC job on 25-MW green hydrogen project in Norway

Australian engineering and professional services company Worley Ltd has been selected to deliver the front-end engineering and design for what is touted as the Nordic region’s first liquid green hydrogen production plant, a 25-MW project led by Norwegian Hydrogen AS in Rjukan, Norway.

The FEED agreement gives an exclusive option for engineering, procurement and construction services. Worley Rosenberg, the Australian firm’s local unit, will develop an EPC execution plan, targeting the start of the EPC phase in the second half of 2026.

The RjukanLH2 project will be based on pre-selected, modular technologies, including next-generation pressurised alkaline electrolyser stacks, and a hydrogen liquefaction unit. It is designed with a capacity of 10 tonnes of liquid hydrogen per day, with upscaling potential, to serve the maritime and industrial sectors. The plant will use renewable electricity from the local grid under power purchase agreement (PPA) sealed with Tinn Energi.

Samskip has been attracted as off-taker, with more customers in the pipeline. The facility is expected to start delivering clean fuel in 2028.

RjukanLH2 has received financial support from the EU Innovation Fund, the EU Hydrogen Bank and Innovation Norway. (April 10, 2026, Source: https://renewablesnow.com/news/worley-gets-feed-epc-job-on-25-mw-green-hydrogen-project-in-norway-1292920/)
