China ramps up oil, gas pipeline construction to secure energy supply
China is accelerating major oil and gas infrastructure, with nearly 40 national pipelines under way.
In Changchun, the Hulin-Changchun gas pipeline is over 90% complete after passing final weld inspection. It's expected to operate by late 2026. Three new pipelines are in full construction, including the Sichuan-to-East Gas Transmission Phase II, which will boost supply security and peak-shaving capabilities.
