Venture Global double US LNG supply to Greece from 2030

Venture Global and Greece’s Atlantic-SEE LNG Trade have doubled the volume under their long-term supply agreement, raising the commitment to at least 1 mtpa of US LNG starting in 2030 for a two-decade tenure.

The revised sales and purchase agreement replaces the original 0.5 million tons per annum minimum signed in November 2025, with an option for Atlantic-SEE to buy additional volumes by mutual agreement.

The SPA builds on Venture Global’s investment in regasification capacity at the Alexandroupolis LNG import terminal in northern Greece, where the US company holds approximately 25% of total capacity.

Atlantic-SEE, a joint venture formed by AKTOR Group and DEPA Commercial, will import the US LNG to Greece and distribute it across Central and Eastern Europe via the “Vertical Corridor” gas network, aiming to reduce the region’s reliance on Russian pipeline gas.

Greece is a major entry point for US LNG to Europe, with American shipments valued at approximately $1 billion last year and accounting for nearly 70% of Greece’s overall LNG imports.

Going forward, Atlantic-SEE is gearing up to supply regasified LNG to eastern European utilities, having signed tentative agreements to supply up to 0.7 mtpa for Naftogaz of Ukraine and 1.4 mtpa for Romanian companies Nova Power & Gas and Transgaz, totaling up to 3.7 billion cubic meters over 20 years starting in 2030.
