Glenfarne’s Magnolia LNG seals feed gas deal

Glenfarne’s Magnolia LNG has signed a long-term feed gas deal with Texas Eastern Transmission for its planned liquefaction and export plant in Louisiana.

Magnolia LNG revealed the signing of the agreement in a letter to the US FERC dated August 10, supplementing its five-year extension request from January this year.

“On July 29, 2026, Magnolia LNG and Texas Eastern Transmission, LP executed a binding precedent agreement for up to 1,400,000 dekatherms per day of firm transportation service for a term of 30 years to supply the Magnolia LNG project with feedgas,” the company said.

“This precedent agreement will meet the total feedgas needs for project operation, and provide Magnolia LNG with reliable

and continuous access to adequate supplies of natural gas,” Magnolia LNG added.

The company did not provide further details.

Texas Eastern Transmission is a subsidiary of Canadian pipeline operator Enbridge, which continues to expand its LNG pipeline business in the US, according to Enbridge’s website.

In 2020, Magnolia LNG secured a five-year extension from FERC to complete the 8.8 mtpa facility located near Lake Charles in Calcasieu Parish by April 15, 2026.

According to Magnolia’s request with FERC dated January 15, the LNG terminal developer now seeks an additional five-year extension until April 15, 2031, to complete construction and place the project in service.

Magnolia told FERC that “good cause” exists to grant its requested extension of time, as Magnolia faced “substantial, unprecedented delays at DOE that could not have been foreseen and were completely outside Magnolia’s control.” (August 11, 2026, Source: https://lngprime.com/americas/glenfarnes-magnolia-lng-seals-feed-gas-deal/194885/)
